Cetopsis starnesi (from publication)

Cetopsis starnesi is confirmed as a species from Argentina.

new locality:
Argentina, Salta, Orán, Río Bermejo basin, Río Pescado under bridge of the RN 50 (22°57’41,2”S, 64°22’14,5”W), 350 m asl, 1 female or immature male, 63,2 mm (CI-FML 3843)

remarks:
Vari, Ferraris & de Pinna (2005) considered the earlier record of Pseudocetopsis gobioides from the Bermejo basin to correspond to Cetopsis starnesi, but the presence of C. starnesi In Argentina was not confirmed by direct examination of specimens by these authors. This opinion is now confirmed by the new record published recently.
