After prior synonymization of Aphyocharax paraguayensis with A. nattereri, Souza-Lima (2003) has transferred this species to the genus Prionobrama. This result has been recently confirmed by Tagliacollo et al. (2009) based on genetical investigation.
Changing a species from one genus to another is not a systematical act in the sense of the Code and thus, does not require special forms for the availability of a publication. As a matter of fact such transfer does only express the personal opinion of researchers or authors and is not mandatory for the acceptance by others. In consequence both papers are suitable for the proposal of a new combination. published in:
